Please introduce legislation to limit the power of the POTUS to enact tariffs like this. Let every Senator and Rep vote on it so we can know who is putting country above party and patronage.

Congress needs to take back power to constrain the executive. Senator Paul is correct - he shouldn’t have the power to unilaterally enact an enormous biggest tax increase. He is using this to consolidate authoritarian power and will reward tax relief to the most obsequious industries and countries.

Everyone should care about this. ED boarding leads to increased mortality & morbidity. ER docs know, unfortunately, how dangerous this is.

We need to:
1. Measure and track this metric
2. Invest to solve the root causes*

*the bottlenecks on throughput usually aren’t in the ER

There is NO excuse for this. The convenience of the administration officials is not more important than the safety of our troops or national security.

Please also make sure that ads for homeopathic, vitamin and supplement industry are banned too. Especially since these substances which purport to be medicinal but somehow better aren’t subjected to any rigorous testing for safety or efficacy.

This is open grift and corruption from the President of the United States. And if you can’t admit that it’s a problem, you’re in the grip of a cult.

Every time he does this, he degrades our entire country. It’s also sad. Many Americans who trust him will lose their savings.

We are all patients. We are not fraud or waste.

I think most of us want to move on and not think about those times again. But I think it is worthwhile to document the history - the uncertainty, the lack of preparedness, the overload of health systems, the difficult decisions that had to be made without the benefit of the knowledge we have now.

There was clearly an asymmetry of information about what was happening in the hospitals. It’s always difficult to share stories out of respect for patients and HIPAA requirements. But I really think people need to hear the stories about what happened at hospitals across the country and world.

So incredibly stressful. Given no PPE and no tests for a long time, clinics couldn’t open so no work for so many physicians.

I’m emergency medicine and everyone assumed my group was fine, but our patient visits dropped immediately and we all took pay cuts. I took a voluntary furlough.

I have been seeing and hearing a lot of revisionist history about the pandemic from laptop-class types lately.

One of many things that bothered me in the February employment report:

Employment in restaurants contracted for second month in a row - fears of deportations are real and ICE raids having chilling effect on service sector employment.

It’s just so irritating to hear all these libertarian free speech hawks squawking about conspiracy and censorship. He wasn’t censored. Not a conspiracy. He was criticized. Harshly because he is an ideologue and put forth a plan that was not just unethical but was just plain wrong. Total ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ .

In reality they were harshly criticized for their errors in logic and judgement. They were just wrong.

But they met at the Oval Office and had tons of access and backing of the libertarian billionaires. They weren’t censored. Just despised by vast majority of colleagues because they were wrong.

Not to mention that you can’t effectively isolate high risk people who often need to interact with others, especially without interventions like masks, ventilation, etc that they say “infringe on freedom” and “don’t work.”

Just stunningly wrong. And cried that they were censored when…

There were so many problems with that plan but at the most basic levels he was spectacularly wrong. It would only have if infection created sterilizing immunity and all the “low risk” people getting Covid would then provide the level of needed herd immunity. Neither of those things was true.

Bhattacharya says we need good data to assuage vaccine hesitancy. Cassidy says we already have it & don't waste time reaffirming the earth is round to convince people who will never believe that to be true.

It’s a relief to see NE Representative Bacon openly break rank and take a principled stance in support of Ukraine and in defense against Russian aggression.

We need more Republicans to take principled stances. Kudos to him. We need a big tent to turn this around.
