Pediatricians don’t get rich off vaccines.

But antivaxers who shill pseudoscientific products and wellness ideology like rfkjr and other monsters absolutely do.

I’m a salaried pediatrician. Vaccines save lives. Vaccines keep kids happy + healthy. Antivax propaganda makes billions and kills kids.

My ancestors were called “illegals” every place they tried to make their home.

They found a better life here. My family has a better life here.

Don’t turn their land of opportunity into the regimes they fled

Why Parents Should Embrace Vaccines In a world full of uncertainty, vaccines can be an easy parenting win.

Vaccines are how we protect children. They are fundamental to a world in which graveyards aren’t lined with the tombstones of babies. They are crucial to a world in which children grow up, survive and thrive.

As a hospital pediatrician, it’s sad that I have to explain why saying “only 500 kids used to die of measles each year” isn’t the argument some ppl think it is.

Spoiler alert: it’s because the number of preventable childhood deaths should be 0.

I commend the American Academy of Pediatrics for fighting the good fight, but it is sad that they need to be doing this in 2025 for diseases we had previously eliminated through vaccination. These diseases are resurgence because a subset of society is insistent on rejecting the science of vaccines.

Somehow controversial opinion: no child should ever die a preventable death.

Our nation is failing its most vulnerable at the most basic level.

They don’t deserve any of this.

I'm here to empower you, and you're here to make the best choices for your family.

I give my daughters their vaccines on time, without hesitation, and with excitement for each one. I have absolutely zero hesitation or worry and leave each visit truly relieved. I hope you can feel that way too.

Oh, and one more thing: we have new studies showing that giving all of the vaccines at once is actually less stressful for the child because it's fewer visits to the doctor's office and more separate instances of giving shots.

5. There is nothing better about getting terrible and preventable diseases "naturally."

1. Vaccines are the safest, most important public health intervention since clean drinking water + sanitation.

2. They are given at times when it makes most sense for the little bodies: before they see the disease and when their body can mount a good response, with boosters to keep them protected.

Vaccines are the rare example of when we, as doctors, do have a great, straightforward, 100% evidence-based answer where one option is actually the safe choice.

But still, here we are. And I'll keep giving vaccine advocacy the attention it (and you!) deserve. The reason vaccine anxiety persists is that there continues to be a criminal amount of compelling but completely false propaganda out there that is only growing in volume.

Let me be clear: I do NOT blame parents for being anxious. It's just such a tragedy that there's any stress over deciding to vaccinate, especially when so many other sources of parenting anxiety are competing for our attention.

Vaccines are the safest, most important intervention since clean drinking water.

All children deserve to be fully immunized according to the current schedule.

We cannot allow the deaths of children from vaccine preventable illnesses to be normalized in the U.S. in the same way that deaths of children from gun violence have been normalized.
Children DO NOT need to die from preventable causes. We owe them full and healthy lives!

Measles has killed a school age child. The child was not vaccinated.
It has been 10 years since anyone has died from measles. It was eradicated in the US thru vaccines. But dangerous dopes like RFK Jr made money scaring ppl into not vaccinating their kids.
