This marks a significant milestone in the work to preserve and enhance this important heritage site — ensuring it remains a place for the community to enjoy for generations to come.

We’re proud to be providing Project Management, Quantity Surveying & CDM services for this exciting initiative.

First recorded in 1650, it’s a rare surviving example of a medieval hand-dug moat.

The approved works will include:
• Restoration of the moat’s banks and planting
• Creation of new reed beds
• Tree and shrub clearance to revive meadows
• Improved sight lines and accessibility

Planning has officially been granted for the repair and restoration of the historic moat surrounding Valence House Museum in Dagenham, London.

This Grade II listed building, once surrounded by a man-made moat, holds a unique place in both local and national heritage.
