A Future Shaped by Empathy
Every child who learns to care for a stray learns what it means to be truly human.
Stray dogs are not just survivors they’re teachers in fur, showing us how to care, connect, and build a kinder world. 🐾💚

Why It Matters
Teaching empathy toward animals builds the foundation of a compassionate society.
Children who respect animals grow into adults who respect people.
Ignoring or fearing strays, on the other hand, risks teaching indifference to suffering in all its forms.

For many children, the first time they truly witness suffering isn’t in another person, but in an animal:
A hungry puppy searching bins
A thin mother nursing her litter
A limping stray seeking shelter
How adults respond to these moments shapes the child’s heart for life.

The way a child is taught to see and treat a stray dog shapes not only that animal’s life, but also the child’s character.
Empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another begins here. And few teachers of empathy are as powerful as stray dogs.

Children and Stray Dogs: Building Empathy from a Young Age - A Thread
Around the world children grow up surrounded by stray dogs.
Some see them as playmates, others as threats. But these encounters are never small or insignificant.

Goodnight, from all of us. 💛

Our clinic work is paused due to eye-watering debt. Then this young girl came in with a broken leg. What could we do? How can we say no? 💔
No credit lines left, no idea how we’ll pay, but we took her in. Please keep her and us in your prayers. I’m very worried 🙏🐾
Milo’s settling in so well at the Sanctuary Project 💛
After everything he’s been through, it’s a joy to see him relaxed, content, and surrounded by love. 🐶✨

Our media lets us down badly :
Labours accomplishments - rarely mentioned
Nigel Farage’s house - dropped/ignored
Nathan Gill’s admission of working for Russia - zilch
Russia/Iran funding Reform/Farage - silence
Instead they spread lies on the Budget/MPs/anything to discredit Labour
Why????
If the ‘war’ is against Hamas then why have over 100k innocent civilians been murdered ?

Thanks to conscientious locals the number plate was noted, he’ll be found and face a significant fine.
Well done to everyone who helped, the pups are safe🐾❤️

Milo taught us that no matter how much of a “lost cause” a dog may appear to be, you should always give them a chance 💛
Most would have written off at the very start, taken away the very chance of survival. Not us!

Two years.
We’ve watched a genocide for two years.
We’ve watched fathers carry what remains of the children in plastic bags for two years.
We’ve watched world leaders gaslight us for two years.
What we allow, we become.
Palestine must be free.
I feel sorry for you, I really do.I’ll pray for you. I’ll ask God to forgive your ignorance when it’s your turn to stand before him.

But real change requires more:
✔️ Criminal liability for illegal breeding
✔️ Proper enforcement of bans
✔️ Sustained support for shelters
✔️ Public awareness & adoption
Because every dog deserves more than survival. They deserve a life worth living.

Yet, there is hope.
It was neighbours who raised the alarm, triggering this rescue.
And with the help of groups like HAYTAP, 20 lives are safe today.
Every rescue matters. Every adoption matters. Every report matters.

This case highlights bigger issues across Turkey:
⚠️ Weak enforcement of bans & fines
⚠️ Widespread unlicensed breeding
⚠️ Enormous strain on shelters & NGOs
Read On 🧵⬇️

But here’s the problem: fines alone don’t stop repeat offenders.
Without enforcement, collection, and criminal prosecution, penalties become just a “cost of doing business.”
And animals keep suffering.

The fine this time?
Some reports say 830,880 TL.
Others say 2,507,120 TL – nearly the price of a house.
Either way, one of the largest fines ever under Turkey’s Animal Protection Law (No. 5199).
