DD has back to back 10/10 runs from Bendis and Brubaker, so a better-than-average run coming right off of those is gonna feel rough.
and Zdarksy wrote one of the best comic book runs of all time for his time on Daredevil. it's basically impossible to follow that up and not draw negative comparisons.

both of the modern runs that people call "bad" are actually solid. both Diggle and Ahmed wrote 7/10 runs. certainly above average. but they had to follow up some of the best runs on any character ever so they felt weak by comparison.

i LOVED Deadly Regenesis and found LK:W to be overall enjoyable even if it had a few moments i didn't like. and Shultz's work on Elektra is pretty good. so it sucks to have her write such a terrible story for Laura. i believed in her :(

good news! the next issue makes this story just bad writing instead of character assassination! it's still absolute garbage that undoes my faith in Shultz to write Laura, but at least it's just a shitty story.
