Right, these are the two options: Either they tolerated Epstein's eugenics to get to the sex crimes or they tolerated his sex crimes to get to the eugenics

Every so often I think about the two grads students in my old lab who had to sort through hundreds of thousands of seafloor images to find ecologically interesting regions. One built this super sophisticated machine learning algorithm that was, honestly, very very impressive.

A "modest margin" when Mamdani beat his next closest challenger by 8 points in a three-person race. Trump won by just 1.5% and it was played off as a seismic realignment of American politics and culture.

As a NYer, ”real” “small town” America now looks like a sexual freak zoo run by genital-obsessive xenophobes who make women into living dolls and shoot each other. Mamdani’s NYC (and mine) is a safe, wholesome place where neighbors help each other, do scavenger hunts, ride bikes, and birdwatch.

White text on a black background reads: “There are more empty homes than homeless people. There is enough food to feed everyone. There is enough money to fund healthcare and education. Scarcity isn’t real. It’s manufactured to keep profits high.”

A few people hoarding all the resources is not sound economic policy 😕

When I was a kid the Black Panther Party sustained me with kindness and free bag lunches over one dismal, hungry summer.

I'm white. I was almost as nervous as I was hungry the first time I stood in line. I'll never forget that gentle man's smile or his friendly "See you tomorrow". 😭

A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

Why are you using it to write your term paper?

In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

Microsoft Excel adds Copilot Al to help ...

The Verget-4.1-mini Al model | 5
successor to the LABS.GENERATIVEAI function Microsoft started experimenting
with in 2023.
Microsoft notes that you can combine its new Al function with other Excel functions, including IF, SWITCH, LAMBDA, or WRAPROWS. The company adds that information sent through Excel's COPILOT function is "never" used for AI training, as "the input remains confidential and is used solely to generate your requested output."
The COPILOT function comes with a couple of limitations, as it can't access information outside your spreadsheet, and you can only use it to calculate 100 functions every 10 minutes. Microsoft also warns against using the AI function for numerical calculations or in “high-stakes scenarios” with legal, regulatory, and compliance implications, as COPILOT "can
give incorrect responses."

I only did pizza for nine years, but after that (relatively) short time I got so used to the feel of dough that I could judge temperatures within two degrees by hand, nail weights without a scale, and get a full pie from phone to oven in twenty seconds.

Not only will we continue to demand the release of the unredacted (other than that of the victims), Epstein files, we demand the victims be heard!
We don't care what a convicted sex trafficker has to say. The only voices that matter are those of the victims.

What happens if you don’t do background checks or training for thousands of people and you give them all total authority?

ICE has been caught looting and destroying property at Pittsburgh restaurants. They even tried to break into the safes. They loaded food, supplies and equipment into vehicles

I do not care that you are not “surprised.” Please. You have no idea how tiresome it is when you post that something horrible, fascist, authoritarian is “not surprising.” Nothing is “surprising” anymore. But a lot of it is horrible and frightening. Let’s deal with it together.

Pretty sure there was an election just a few months after those protests. So... the protests didn't affect THAT election, but did determine the outcome of the election more than 4 years later? Your logic is not logicing.

There's this super cool thing tech companies use to decide what products to build. They ask people "would you use this?" and then use synthesis techniques to interpret the answer as "yes" no matter what it actually was.

This is called "validation" and you can make six figures doing it for a living.
