This dude, his story, has come up from the background of One Piece to make him not only my MVP for the series, but absolutely devastatingly made me weep as I read his backstory. The kind of endless,unshakable love for a child that resonated so deeply with the core of this girl-Dad.

Bartholomew Kuma is a pretty good encapsulation of One Piece. Looking in from the outside, he looks really dumb, but the actual character is a very tragic and powerful operator in this world.
