cut out baked and decorated the sugar cookies 🎃 store bought royal icing cuz I couldn't be faffed. tried a new recipe, it's solid but more work and less tasty than my usual, which is BA's butter cookie recipe. that one is paywalled but I have a scan if anyone wants it, they're easy and very tasty!

4 hours of baking concluded, another batch of the brown butter pumpkin oatmeal cookies baked and iced, and dough for cutout sugar cookies rolled out and chilling to be baked and decorated tomorrow. 💖baking season💖

your 30s is putting on sneakers in the kitchen so you can spend a few hours baking without your feet and back hurting

also hello hello I am home from France. we had a marvelous time, despite some bumps and the change in schedule (which didn't end up being necessary cuz the strikes were called off but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ oh well!). Nice and Eze were lovely and beautiful and I was very brave and spoke a lot of French 😊

someone once requested this book at my library through interlibrary loan and called us TWICE to reassure us it wasn't a joke and they really did want it, and I just think Stede Bonnet

we're having a mostly lovely and somewhat stressful time in France!! have seen many wonderful things with more to come in Nice over the next few days. unfortunately decided to cut the trip a little short to avoid issues from the strikes 😔 but we'll still have a couple days to make the most of it!
