Wir sind darauf angewiesen, dass internationale Forschende und Studierende nach Deutschland kommen wollen und 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯 𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘣𝘦𝘯, 𝘴𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘩𝘭 𝘧𝘶̈𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘯 𝘻𝘶 𝘬𝘰̈𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘯. Alles andere wäre ein immenser Standortnachteil im internationalen Wettbewerb mit sehr negativen Folgen für die deutsche Gesellschaft.

Strong opinions aside: I think it's generally healthy to remember how and why we are naming things. The LMC/SMC discussion was definitely insightful (and not quite as harsh and bitter as some other ongoing debates, so far...).
