Tobi-Kadachi is my very favorite monster next to Jin Dahaad. tobi pebbles has been on my mind since i first encountered it ingame haha... i love being self-indulgent and creature-ifying him ^_^

the alt texts took me like 3 hours to type out eloquently lmfao if you're interested in knowing more details about each vessel's concept please do make sure to read it all

Sliver of Straw's vessel (Rain World). my sliver is a very personalized interpretation created from nearly a year worth of collaborative silly imaginary scenarios with a dear friend, so she was designed with input from mostly them. we decided she would not care for efficiency, opposite of pebbles, simply directly mashing together an arrangement of many creatures she likes. scavenger and lizard used as the base for body structure (hence the elongated torso and the faux mask-like facial structure, which also imitates a king vulture's mask). scavenger-like limbs and digits with serrated(?) claws suited well for climbing and gripping on. giant moth wings and antennae, very much capable of flight. lantern mouse-like stubby ears. lizard spines/frills along backside all the way down to the leapzard tail (including internal gas sacs) utilized for leaping in bursts just as cyan lizards do. red lizard tongue, spit, and teeth,... and perhaps as an involuntary behavioral consequence some short phases of its hyper aggression. she's a bit of an outlier in terms of coloration, seeing as rain world's fauna seems to commonly display dark pigmentation as a main body trait (which i Tried to incorporate into the others' designs). though she was initally supposed to be an even weirder looking nightmarish visually nonsensical mix of all kinds of things. admittedly i just couldn't figure out how to execute that with how the others' designs escalated as more and more thought was being put into them.

Seven Red Suns' vessel (Rain World). i'm still the most unsure about their concept, to be honest. the base body structure is taken from slugcats. their face, just like the others excluding sliver, is distinctly ancient-like in shape and structure. slugcat-like ears, tall and funneled for improved hearing. slugcat-like limbs, with an extra thumb for improved dexterity on their hands, and clawed feet. feather-like fibers/fur covers the top of their torso, perhaps for natural insulation. they have an additional set of limbs growing out from their back, a set of wingarms with feather-adjacent epidermal growths acting as the structure of it, enabling them to fly [note that the wings in the concept art are quite a bit undersized/disproportionate to their body size and mass. they should be even bigger]. they can use their winghands for minor activities such as gripping onto environmental structures like poles or pipes, or bracing against the ground, but nothing extraordinary. [the avian features were inspired by/based on the ancient extinct bird Confuciusornis, the first ever currently known beaked bird, which also still had clawed wings!] spearmaster Does exist at the time of this au, and ironically enough suns decides to equip their vessel with much the same tool as their messenger, copying their gimmick over.... minus the purposeful consumption and digestion issues. oh suns

No Significant Harassment's vessel (Rain World). uncharacteristically, they're a rather simple one. their body structure is benefactor and caramel lizard based. the abundance of caramel features gives him an additional set of limbs, crest-like 'bumps' along the body, and their immunity to worm grass and red lizard bites. his head and face, like the others' excluding sliver, are distinctly ancient-shaped, and crested. centipede antennae, protective plating along the entire body length, and their pincer-like sensory appendages at the end of the 'tail', almost resembling a dropwig's pincers. this also gives them immunity to red centipede-level electric shocks, but not the ability to dish them out themself. [i considered having them all purpose themselves some pieces of clothing and/or other accessories for multiple reasons, and i might still decide to do so. because it occured to me just how plain and.. non-expressive sig's design is, contrary to what you'd expect of him. he loves to express himself in obnoxious ways, and clothing and accessories would be one of his favorite indulgences. i'm still figuring all that out.]

Looks to the Moon's vessel (Rain World). her body structure is salamander and rain deer based. she, like the others exluding sliver, has a distinctly ancient-shaped head and face. her body more closely resembles a salamander, being elongated, having a tail, and stumpy limbs with webbed clawed digits. though she is lacking their distinctive external gills, she has functional internal gills [sets of 3 on the side of her neck, stylized] And a lung for air-breathing - making her semi-aquatic. she has air sacs to release and store air at will with for buoyancy (air sacs in chest-throat area - will deflate or inflate accordingly!). this enables her to walk underwater or float at the surface at will. the underside of her tail is adorned with giant jellyfish stingers which she can utilize at will. they only deal a mild shock meant to deterr its recipient, not harm or even kill them. might have some lasting stinging effects nonetheless. she has a thick enforced build like a rain deer and obviously also has a set of antlers like them. now, here is where it gets interesting (and really weird). we had the idea to have her limbs be elongated and act as stilts like a rain deer's too while retaining distinct salamander features, but obviously the two dont mix well, and i simply couldn't figure out how. lo and behold my friend suggested the solution; rapid cell cloning (think hydra [actual real life close relatives to jellyfish, look them up!])! this occurs in arm and leg joint areas, at will, to extend limbs to approximately quintuple their normal size, closely resembling a rain deer's in the end. a rather creepy spectacle, but it also aids in walking underwater, avoiding certain threats, or traversing difficult terrain.

here are Sliver, Suns, Sig, & Moon. as of rn, Wind and Inno do not have visualized vessels. i always have trouble thinking up things for them admittedly. i'll get there, maybe. bc of character limit, i'll put some additional info about the vessels' features in the alt texts if you want to read it.

Five Pebbles' vessel. first & foremost, i figured he'd prioritize efficiency, survivability, & energy conservation (the latter mostly so he'd need to ingest as little to sustain his vessel as possible. the sensation of eating as a being completely unfamiliar with it prior is not something he enjoys). unfortunately for him this means he has to keep the vessel downsized by a lot more than he'd like (his iterator puppet had already been smaller than he liked), making him sacrifice some dignity for his own long-term comfort. the base of his body structure is actually pulled from both scavengers And the benefactors! shocker, huh? seeing as he doesn't particularly like either. however, it brings ease of verbal communication & the efficiency of their limbs' anatomy is something he can't pass up. very effective for tool-use & climbing. his head is very distinctly ancient-shaped [important to note that my benefactors are not entirely humanoid in form, they're basically semi-anthro Synapsids]. large eyes & funnel-like ears for good sight (optimal for low light conditions, better image quality, depth perception) & precise hearing. sensory frills for vibration detection (also very useful for rain cycle approximation). strawberry-lizard-like hooked grappling tongue, effective for both gripping onto & reeling in targets, & catapulting himself Towards a target. enabling himself flight is a given - being able to master both life on the ground as well as in the air (& even the water*) is highly beneficial & enables better chances to escape & evade of all kinds of predators. he constructed himself fairly complex wingarms [personally inspired by Avatar's flighted creatures, like Ikran (mountain banshees). ily avatar] instead of a separate set of limbs - for energy conservation. for his own convenience, they can 'fold' up against his elbows and the membrances will 'shrinkwrap'(?) to his body when not in use. smooth transition between bipedal & quadrupedal stance. [continued >>>] +

+ prehensile tail for gripping on, adorned with lizard-like frills that can flare out at will (flared out during flight). being small ofc causes him to look like an easy snack for predators, but that isn't too much of a problem when he's equipped with multiple iterations of self-defense! ; the frills on the sides of his tail, the exposed flap of his throat, as well as his wings' membranes, can change pigmentation to morph into 'dangerous' combinations of patterns & colors, making for a formidable threat display (with some (in his opinion) ridiculous exaggerated posturing, tail rattling, & wing flapping on his part) that could theoretically deterr most predators up to double his own size. [the colors also tend to change based on emotional state! it's possible for them to change involuntarily due to strong internal emotional reactions & not just during a threat display] that, is his first line of defense when escape fails &/or he has been cornered. his second however, is a rather unique ability; vocal mimicry! he can imitate nearly any sound, a more extreme measure to get rid of predators that may fear much larger beings such as miros birds, vultures, or even leviathans - or to imitate intraspecies communication as observed in yellow lizards, giving himself a chance of being seen as an ally & left alone. can also be used to imitate other sounds of distraction or intimidation instead of mimicking another predator or an ally. his last and most dire line of defense are detachable spines/quills sprouting from his backside, their only purpose being to sting & embed into any potential threats [very similar to earth's porcupines]. extreme cases like being grabbed will end in mouthfuls of quills for the perpetrators. *it is not aquatic or suited for prolonged life in water, BUT the membranes & the 'webbing' between his digits does help him move relatively efficiently in it. he could propel himself & take off from the surface of water similarly to some of our earth's seabirds.
