Thank you for posting this. I had no idea that the burn bans only impacted some cities.

It made me really wonder just how awful the downstairs author’s book on Maggie Thatcher must’ve been.

For years my rule was if I didn’t like it at 50 pages, I would jump to the end. If the ending seemed predictable, I didn’t read any further. But, if it was a surprise how it ended up there, I might give it another 20 to 30 pages. It almost always worked out that I finished the book.

My SO’s name is the same as a famous singer. Even young people who have never heard his music joke about it. I’ve never experienced anyone joking about it that seemed to have a clue how cringey it is.

Intercostal Waterway, been St Pete Beach & St Petersburg, shortly after sunset 3/1/25. Blue sky, white sand, murky green water. Can’t see the bottom more than about 4-5’ out. It has not returned to normal since the hurricanes in Sept & Oct.

For 5 years I took my former FIL to his appointments at the VA. To a person I have never interacted with more involved, more caring, more dedicated medical personnel than I did at Roudebush VA (in Indpls), all who were apologetic about the bureaucracy of their organization.

I tried to make a version of a French 75 with indigo gin (delicious) and this weird blue Prosecco. I thought I’d call it Sacre Bleu but it ended up looking more like the Intracoastal post hurricane. I guess it could be called The Helene Aftermath

You’ll recall I showed up to lunch wearing a coat suited for a blizzard…in FL so you can guess my personal decision. I applaud the her body/her choice micro decision but am perplexed that it was even a question. (Since I was a solitary parent, I don’t understand nuances of co-parenting dynamics.)

As I was scrolling I stopped suddenly because I thought the post read that we were waiting for A.I. not Al. 😂 I am not here often but agree that we need #ModPo here.

I’m hearing church music. A nearby Catholic Church used to play recorded music at certain times of the day. During the week it’s rare to hear because there is too much noise. But it’s quiet tonight. Been so long I had forgotten. Even tin-y music is Kinda nice because it’s a return to “normalcy”.
