Following World War II, the Allied Control Council seized IG Farben's assets because of its role in the Nazi war effort and involvement in the Holocaust, including using slave labour from concentration camps and humans for dangerous medical testing, and production of Zyklon B, a chemical used in gas chambers. In 1951, IG Farben was split into its constituent companies, and Bayer was reincorporated as Farbenfabriken Bayer AG. After the war, Bayer re-hired several former Nazis to high-level positions, including convicted Nazi war criminals found guilty at the IG Farben Trial like Fritz ter Meer. Bayer played a key role in the Wirtschaftswunder in post-war West Germany, quickly regaining its position as one of the world's largest chemical and pharmaceutical corporations.

In 2016, Bayer merged with the American multinational Monsanto in what was the biggest acquisition by a German company to date. However, owing to the massive financial and reputational blows caused by ongoing litigation concerning Monsanto's herbicide Roundup, the deal is considered one of the worst corporate mergers in history.

Well damn. Brought to us by essentially the same company that brought Zyklon B to Auschwitz.

And ironically it would lead to immediate burnout, even for already high-performing employees. People just aren't meant to be slaves, mentally or physically. Their minds wander in search of balance and rest.

"Agnostic" by itself tends to be "I choose not to take a stance in whether there is a god or isn't a god." Long story short, I think we're just using different terms for the same thing and I got hung up on it.

18.02.2026 23:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The definitions are def inconsistent. I consider myself "agnostic atheist," since my stance is "no god until evidence proves otherwise." I've heard what you describe ("no god, period") called either "atheist" or "anti-theist." I prefer to label them anti-theist based on your original critique.

The media keeps talking about "affordability" like it's a hip, new economic concept they've just learned about, completely detached from the compounding price hikes of the past 5 years and tariffs chiefly absorbed by consumersβ€”because their interest is in relatable messaging, not effective policy.

The U.S. military says it carried out strikes on three boats in the Caribbean and Pacific, killing at least 11 people and again providing no evidence of alleged drug smuggling.

This brings the total number of strikes on boats in waters near Latin America to 42, resulting in at least 145 deaths.

Isn't that multinational social and political pressure a form of enforcement? It is consequences for member actions. It just doesn't seem to be enough when certain member nations have inordinate military power. I'm certainly not advocating for a global police force.

Atheism is not a religion because it is not a belief or set of beliefs. It is a rejection of the claims and beliefs of othersβ€”that their god or gods existβ€”based on available evidence. An atheist's experience of hope, belief, or faith in something outside of this scope does not preclude atheism.

I've said it before, but this is the ultimate goal of it all.

1. Use immigration as a wedge issue to erode civil liberties and build concentration camp and domestic surveillance infrastructure

2. Claim voter fraud, then commit voter fraud

3. Round up political opposition into camps as terrorists

Very interesting. And WEXMAC was only recently set up under Biden in 2021. Yet another example of the bipartisan "bump, set, spike" to advance the machinery of fascism.

For ICE to build concentration camps quickly, they're leaning on this Dept. of War program WEXMAC TITUS helps contractors bypass the traditionally lengthy government contract bidding process

β€œWEXMAC TITUS allows ICE to treat immigration enforcement like a national security operation rather than a standard civil immigration one,” Michael Wriston, a 20-year veteran military analyst who is now a researcher and reporter with @projectsaltbox.bsky.social told me.

Bigger point here is that Meta not only tracks its users' every interaction, its aim is to deeply analyze your behavior to the point of replication. After that, it can run millions of simulations to find the most convincing way to sell you a certain product, certain views, or certain politics.

Good candidates don't need a 3-year PR sanitation campaign to get votes. And what audience is a Pelosi endorsement even aimed at? Those people would already vote for Newsom if told to.

What's next? Campaigning with Liz Cheney? I mean what Dem in their right mind would...

Does anybody have data on what infrastructure is being bought for the death camps? I feel like we should keep our eyes on that since it points to their intended uses, beyond just the purchase of warehouses. E.g., at some point Nazi Germany bought Zyklon B, gas tanks, train tracks, razor wire, etc.
