In this case I’m increasing the effect on the right side of the plane with uv.x but yes it’s essentially a texture on the plane rather than some scene responsive thing. Nice to be able to art direct it though. You could literally paint a texture to drive it live

In our next Tiny Glade update we'll bump the light limit from 32 to 32k while keeping the cost more or less the same.

The small limit has been a cop out, as we didn't quite know how to render huge numbers of (screen-space) shadow-casting lights without severe performance degradation.

I’m just seeing a lot of graphs and not much emotive or tangible arguments. These are totally fine when preaching to the choir but I don’t see it having much reach when trying to bring people in who are disengaged to begin with. I don’t know what the solution looks like but it’s not graphs or jargon

I’m not disputing that. I’m just saying that the way scientists are communicating that it’s a problem is ineffective 👌

The temperature can swing 5-10 degrees day-to-day so saying we’ll have a 1-2 degree increase over a period of years doesn’t sound as bad as it really is.

Numerical temperature is too abstract to be meaningful. How many more vulnerable people will die due to heat/cold? How many people will be displaced? Where will there be water shortages?

I am very pro Blender Studio but in my head the splash screen is such a good place to hero the community to the community

I think the Blender Studio is too linked to the Blender Foundation so it feels internal. I personally think it’s better to champion community members as there’s so much incredible art being made by individuals and it’s so hard for people to get a platform these days.

No offence to the Blender Studio but I feel like the splash screen should always be a community artwork, even if it needs to be commissioned #b3d

It's a bit tricky honestly because a lot of the "proper" workflow today would be using the Matrix nodes. I'd say the general logic flow is still the same but I'd expect some more changes to that in another year or so. I am proud of the courses but you're right about them starting to show their age.

2D motion graphics and funky animations are such a pleasure to do procedurally in Blender! I’m so happy this is a geo nodes rig

However, I could never recommend anyone spends $6k on a laptop. You’re well into workstation money there and no matter how nice a MacBook is, it’s never not just a laptop.
