Yep. We're on a family plan with Tidal. Not because of the nebulous 'hi-fi' streaming quality, but because they give more money to artists per play than any other service I could find. Music shouldn't be free, artists should get paid.

Vancouver fantastic to visit, but not such an awesome place to live. Great access to nature, but culturally it's dead. So many deserted flats owned offshore. Also rains non-stop from September to May. I lived there for 15 years, may never go back. Oh, and plastic pitch and club may move because MLS.

I used a service called Getflix that spoofs your location via DNS so you don't have to turn it on and off like you do with a VPN. Super cheap, too. Watched the Doubters to Believers documentary that way on the UK site.

It's the 'NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!' to close a social media message announcing the bombing of a sovereign nation that really gives it that Orwellian twist.

Add me to the boycott list, though for slightly different reasons. Mine are Gaza and the criminal enterprise that has hi-jacked international football and calls itself FIFA.

What will help him is he's been the opposite of Ange, pragmatic in style and finding ways to work with the players he has. He's also charming, will buy him time. Similar to when Klopp arrived, the key will be feeling that things are improving. Spurs fans saw some genuinely awful football last year.

Back before Slot was even on anyone's radar, Frank was my choice to take over from Klopp. Have loved him at Brentford: humble, smart, overachieving. Spurs is a different mess, though, and the gulf between the ambitions of the owner and the ambitions of the fans will be hard to navigate.

Add us to the list. Visited Western New York last summer, it's possible that was the last time we'll ever go. Keeping trips at home or across oceans for the foreseeable.

Thanks, David. As someone who has struggled to be engaged by the extremely predictable racing this year, you've done this one justice. Listening to the French commentary and watching Papa Zarco is enough to soften the hardest of hearts.

There was an awful banner about Arteta at Anfield today, and every single LFC fan I know and saw online thought it was terrible. But I also saw dozens of Arsenal posts about it saying, 'typical Liverpool' etc. We hate each other while the sport is bled dry by the real evils of the world.
11.05.2025 18:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Haha, touchΓ©. I think we're all convinced all supporters of other clubs are unbearable because we mostly see the worst examples in this awful banter era. I will grant, LFC can be extra touchy, but the Hillsborough and poverty chanting still haven't stopped.
11.05.2025 18:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
"All Liverpool fans". As if "all Arsenal fans" can't be tarred with a similar brush. Or maybe the ones that get selected are because they're going to wind people up and drive engagement? As if other supporters of big clubs don't think of their own as TMCOAF? Nice high horse to go with pearls.
11.05.2025 18:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
It's a team sport. The trophy he wants is individual, the Balon d'Or. He's going to Madrid because he feels he has a better chance there. I wouldn't have booed, but I'm not going to get all high and mighty about those that do. Arsenal will do the same if Madrid does the same with Saliba.
11.05.2025 17:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0
Oh, put away the clutching pearls. First, vocal minority. Second, it's a direct rejection of the club as he's not leaving for money or trophies but to chase a Balon d'Or at a continental rival where there's lots of bad blood. Third, many ambiguous celebrations now seem antagonistic in hindsight.
11.05.2025 17:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Non-Liverpool fans being sanctimonious about their reaction to a player who has a) walked away from the club for personal glory, and b) made repeated celebrations etc. that appear intentionally antagonistic knowing what we do now. Right. I'm with you 99/100 times, Philippe, but not this one.

It's the invented 'gotcha' of claiming it somehow makes YNWA inauthentic that makes me laugh. I've heard this particular 'banter' for years and years.

@holland-tom.bsky.social 's book, Dominion, does a great job showing how many of the things we take as self-evident truths are rooted in a Christian tradition. I'm most reminded of this when reading ancient works where their 'truths' and assumptions are so wildly different as to seem hallucinogenic.

And I should clarify, I have extremely happy memories of his time with the club, and the teams he has been a part of. I'm not burning a jersey, etc. But if he comes back to Anfield in white on a European night, I fully expect the Kop to boo him deaf, and I hope he gets absolutely clattered by Endo.
26.03.2025 20:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Of course it isn't, he's free to leave. But supporters are also free to dislike him for that. Consensus seems to be he's leaving because there's a better chance of winning Balon d'Or in Madrid (he said he'd rather win that than team trophies). That's not a player I can think of fondly.
26.03.2025 20:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0
Going to Madrid *is* shameful for a kid of his background. It's not like he grew up in South America dreaming about La Liga. He's free to go for the money and trophies, but Liverpool supporters are also free to hold him in absolute contempt. He's a rat among the likes of Sterling for me.

I hate this so much. Imagine F1 doing riding mower racing as a support class? Barstool racing? What started as a novelty race in the US has attracted far more attention than it ever deserved.
