As a WTX native, it’s a place I avoided pronouncing until I lived in NTX long enough & met enough people I trusted were saying it correctly. I’m curious how she butchered it, there are so many different possibilities!

I plan on being very busy and I do have a couple of good girlfriends who grew up with all of us (these are my brothers) who will run interference. I’ve already set the boundary that no one is staying at our home, the bride needs the space (she doesn’t) so I will have a safe space before & after.

One is my daughter’s wedding, can’t miss that, but I do expect I’ll be busy/distracted enough not to let them ruin the day; and maybe they won’t all attend! Good idea on the other event, me waking with a migraine has legit been known to happen!

FML I can think of 2 events where we’ll all be together but I don’t know that I can put up with this any longer, there’s already such a distance between us (started w pandemic) but it seems as if there’s a new level of loss/grief I need to work through to be at peace with myself.

An update: they’re back home, fam member is healing, felt well enough to attempt 9 holes today. Spouse, however, is still miserably ill. Meanwhile, another fam member & firm maga wife went to NYC to visit & attended a Gutfield taping yesterday.
