This isn’t “AI psychosis” and we probably shouldn’t use that phrase anyway, but it does show a weirdly popular belief about LLMs: that you can train them through interaction (you cannot) and that your interactions are special compared to other users (they are not).

Pleased as punch to reveal - now that the backerkit is live - that LAST RITES is also available as part of the digital rewards for Ways and Means. Three adventures for HEART, for use as one shots, campaign seeds, or brief distractions on the road to the grave.

I'm on the job market looking for CS/ischool faculty and related positions! I'm broadly interested in doing research with policymakers and communities impacted by AI to inform and develop mitigations to harms and risks. If you've included any of my work in syllabi or policy docs please let me know!

📣 New preprint! We know humans are biased against AI-creativity. But what about LLMs, now often judging creativity in various contexts? Do they replicate, transform, or amplify this bias? We tested it. Turns out: AI is 2.5X more biased against its own work than humans. arxiv.org/pdf/2510.08831 🧵

Tron Ares has what has to be the highest budget depiction of curriculum learning ever. I hope RL folks steal the clip to play in lectures.

When @aceottorney.bsky.social first told me about this I said "this could change people's lives and stop developers from getting exploited" and having seen the final resource, I think I was not wrong. I'd call it a must-bookmark for indie devs.

I got that bit of info from Ben Cousins, and have mentioned it several times. Others have referenced it too, see www.researchgate.net/figure/Jumpi... which probably will link to his original source.

Maybe I’m naive but I’m hopeful that we can actually fight against the notion of GenAI/LLMs = AI. AI has been a broad category of technical approaches since the 1950‘s and I think redrawing the borders to only mean a specific subset of approaches is only in the interest of VC/tech ghouls.

Really excited to get back to @aiide.bsky.social this year and support one of our rising stars making her conference debut!

One of the things that's been eye opening in ten years post-academia is how we deliver actual value rather than intellectual curiosity. Going to enjoy talking further on this!

Sora, Not Sorry: OpenAI Backtracks on Opt-Out Copyright Policy OpenAI, facing backlash, will now let rightsholders decide whether their characters appear in Sora 2, with revenue sharing for those who opt in.

So even before any legal action this has already been massively expensive for OpenAI.

Meaning that OpenAI, already hemorrhaging money, made the “clever” move to make a video generation social media site to hemorrhage money even faster.

AI always calling your ideas “fantastic” can feel inauthentic, but what are sycophancy’s deeper harms? We find that in the common use case of seeking AI advice on interpersonal situations—specifically conflicts—sycophancy makes people feel more right & less willing to apologize.

AI isn't replacing radiologists Radiology combines digital images, clear benchmarks, and repeatable tasks. But demand for human radiologists is at an all-time high.

In 2016 Hinton predicted that AI would replace all radiologists in five years. Ten years later, why hasn't it happened? This post is a great explainer.
