i really don't mind NPCs, or dialogue in general in metroid games, but so much of what they've shown of prime 4 since the bike trailer has been things that just aren't what Metroid fans, especially prime fans want and i genuinely wonder what the hell the vision is sometimes.

NPCs in metroid with dialogue don't bother me. but metroid does not need companions. Samus has and always will work better both as a gameplay vessel and as a character when the characters she interacts with only do so at certain points (often in cutscenes), rather than persistently across the game

that's why the open world was in quotations because i was aware, but that bike gameplay is not what i want from prime. From what i've read this companion is significantly worse than prime 3's entire cast and sticks around for longer (albeit, not the entire time) which is also NOT what i want

I started to really get worried about prime 4 when they showed the trailer of the bike "open world" looking section and what i've been reading today has been so incredibly disappointing that my hype has evaporated
