OK, they're using the calculator at americanscovered.org.

For #LA04 (and all of the examples) it looks like they're assuming the couple are 60 yrs old & are enrolled in a Silver Plan, which is fine; that would indeed give $542/mo for 2025.

However, again, $82,800 is only 391% FPL next year.

White collar(ish) defendants typically appear in federal court in response to a summons. Arresting on a warrant in this case would be just for show.

There is a gulf in America. I submit it is the gulf between good and evil, or at least not-evil and evil.

The gulf is not just between people who oppose this and people who are indifferent to it or reluctantly accept it in support of immigration policy or see it as collateral damage.

OK. The #Klein + #Remnick lovefest in @newyorker.com is a bridge too far. If I could ask Klein a few questions. Dear Ezra, you suggest that you are still "community" with the far-right, even as many see that as impossible at the moment. 1/

In October 2007. when the New York Post reported that Epstein was preparing a guilty plea, one of his many friends at Harvard University got in touch.
I read the newspapers early this morning,' the neurologist Mark Tramo wrote to one of Epstein's assistants. "Please remind him that bovs from The Bronx (even if they end up at Harvard) have long memories, know all about cops, and stay true to their friends through thick and thin (no less peccadilloes). Tramo, who is currently listed as an adjunct professor at University of California at Los Angeles, didn't respond to multiple messages seeking comment

The Post’s stated reasons are *worse*.

If Tom Homan did nothing wrong, the Department of Justice should have no issue releasing the Homan files and the video of the alleged bribery to clear this up.

And while they’re at it, go ahead and release the Epstein files and clear Trump’s name.

Shouldn’t be hard!

As far as I can tell the Trump Administration’s stance is that he took $50,000 in cash for totally innocent reasons and that thinking otherwise is deep state nonsense.

No, it’s not plausible.

Obama is the reason Trump came about. They say ‘Trump is divisive’. He’s the antidote, the answer to the divisiveness of Obama.”

I can't see how this ends well, I really can't. She knows what she says is bullshit. She's just saying this to perform for her audience.

We are dominated now by some kind of "I know you are but what am I" cartoon post-modernism and I don't see a way out.

I wrote this story because the case of the Guatemalan children hasn’t received nearly as much media attention as it deserves.

I wanted to highlight the full extent of the government’s depraved conduct.

I hope you’ll read and share. Don’t look away.

Leaving aside his contempt for taking domestic violence seriously, please remember that DHS has repeatedly argued that Kilmar Abrego Garcia was a dangerous menace to the nation because of allegations of domestic violence.

Is it not a crime? Or is it a crime so serious it merit deportation?
