Myttin da, oll, good morning everyone! The sun is finally emerging in Cornwall after a damp start. Two Monday rehearsals to go before our Brahms Requiem on 22nd November. There's still time to purchase tickets at the Minack Box Office, 01736 810181.

Our bass-baritone soloist, Florian Störtz, has won 4 international singing competitions in the last 3 years & has been identified as a rising star by 2 major organisations supporting young talent. We look forward to welcoming him for his first performance in Cornwall. 3/3

Camilla Harris, soprano, rising star & former chorister of Salisbury Cathedral, joins us for the ethereal fifth movement of the Requiem. Audience members who attended the St Endellion Easter Festival 2023 may recall her performance there. We look forward to welcoming her back to Cornwall. 2/3

And a quick reminder to members coming to rehearsal via Chiverton Cross: a short section of the B3277 between Chivvie and Rowes roundabouts will be closed tonight (& all this week), diverted via Scorrier, Blackwater & St Agnes! A30, A390 and A3075 all operating normally.

A recent Cornwall Council meeting, a motion was passed for Kernow (Cornwall) to be recognised as a nation with equal status to Wales and Scotland.

How are you defining “astonishing” here? The astonishment of musical directors is not always seamlessly aligned to the astonishment of their singers…

We’ve probably all experienced a fruitless obbligato in our time but never in Messiah!
