Once you’ve learned to paraphrase effectively, you can combine ideas from multiple works into a discussion of how concepts are related or how they influence one another (i.e., synthesizing ideas). (2/4)

Paraphrasing isn’t about swapping enough words to make a new version of a sentence (known as “patchwriting”). Instead, it’s about understanding ideas and expressing them, with accuracy, in your own voice. (1/4)
