I saw this photo of a boxer in Santiago, 2017. I love the image for its vulnerability, magnetism and power. It became the inspiration for a character in my novel, Broken Horses.

Oof. So many interesting thoughts here around the ‘contract’ a writer must enter into with their readers in order to create trust. Emotional truth, actual truth, and how it feels to have that trust broken in this way
