I know I've bigged up her book but I'm also a big fan of @katemckean.bsky.social 's blog, which I'd recommend to anyone trying to get published.

Most recently I learned those Publishers deal announcements HAVE A CODE. A "significant deal" is $250k-$499k!

As someone who grew up with and continues to know a lot of fundamentalists: state-funded faith schools are the *only way* to make sure that children growing up in religious extremism are receiving an education that broadly accords with modern life and values.

The Greens requested an interview on the Laura Kuenssberg Show with Zack Polanski when he was elected leader, but were denied, with a promise to interview him during Green conference instead.

This was then scrapped citing the Manchester synagogue attack. Polanski is both Jewish and from Manchester

Yeah, it's irritating when you realise how much difference it can make. I'm just hardwired to always get the cheap version of household stuff and annoyingly it often is a false economy.

I know BEGONE YOU CLOT is a more Dennis from Always Sunny type line, but he wouldn't get excited about an ironing board, whereas Schmidt definitely would. I had to make a judgment call, let that be the end of it.
