2/2 I wouldn't say I was completely won over by the end, but I liked it enough to go ahead and watch the next episode, which was better. Plan to keep watching, even though I'm wary about episode 3, which apparently features a missing dog angle.

Watched the first two episodes of Peacock's reboot of THE BURBS last night. I spent maybe the first ten minutes not feeling it and sort of wishing I'd put on the original movie instead. But then I laughed at a particular line ("Bitch, I don't speak resumé") and from there slowly warmed up to it.

I know there are more insidious uses of AI, but one of the most depressing to me is when it pops up in local TV ads. These things are supposed to be folk art; put your uncle in a bad wig like god intended.

Reports I'm reading are that it was actually a red party balloon (seriously). Which tracks, because everything the administration does is completely ridiculous.

In January I started what I intended to only be a 5,000 or so words short story. It's still going at 27,102 words. It'll end at some point, I'm just about certain of it.

Believe it or not, before today I only ever owned my one and only film adaptation on DVD. Because availability of the Blu-ray seems to have become a bit scarce, I bought this from eBay. Happy I now own it in the best available format. Unless a 4K ever comes out. Seems unlikely, but you never know.

Good news. I'm an MST3K fan from way back, but the most recent reboot with the rotating hosts and different voice actors didn't appeal to me nearly as much. Just felt off. This fixes that.
