Yeah, nothing from there, and anyway, I must admit my eyes glossed over the "have no way of tracking" bit before sending my reply. I'll just continue keeping an eye out. I'm sure it'll arrive soon-ish.

Haven't received yet. Do you happen to know the origin point of the shipping? Interested to see if I can deduce whether one or the other of a couple of forthcoming mail pieces (as according to Informed Delivery) might be it.

Have had some pretty decent preorder numbers on this forthcoming sequel to THE FREAKSHOW the last couple days. Would be cool to keep that going...

Favorite line from last night's new episode of Pluribus: "I'm gonna Sid Vicious this shit like it's the Chelsea fuckin' Hotel."

Also watched two more great episodes of The Lowdown. Poor Lee Raybon (Ethan Hawke) keeps getting his shit mercilessly caved in in his relentless search for the truth.

In the recent Joe Hill interview on the Losers Club podcast, there's a part where he talks about a novel he wrote when he was 13/14. It was called MIDNIGHT EATS. He was describing the plot and laughing it off as obviously ridiculous, but I was thinking, 'Shit, I'd read the hell out of that.'

I ran out to a used bookstore I knew and snagged them the day the King/Bachman story broke. They didn't have Rage, unfortunately.

I don't have that, but I do have the original Bachman paperback of The Running Man. The Long Walk and Roadwork as well.

Heard from my brother today that Americana/folk/rock singer-songwriter Todd Snider has passed away. Here's a great and funny song from a live album my late first wife and I used to listen to a lot.

For no particular reason….posting former U.S. Attorney General John Mitchell’s mugshot before he went to Federal prison for committing numerous crimes on behalf and or/at the direction of President Nixon including obstruction of justice and conspiracy.

On the home screen of the ESPN app, I scroll all the way to the bottom where there's a channels list, click on ESPN, then select the current live show, and from there it plays as if you'd selected ESPN on a standard TV provider.

Cover for The Freakshow: Rebirth in Drayton Falls by Bryan Smith. Depicts an eerie, orange-tinted nighttime scene of a big top tent.

Back cover text:

After a long dormant period, the Flaherty Brothers Traveling Freakshow & Carnivale has risen from the ashes to once again bring bloody spectacle and carnage to remote corners of the land. Presided over now by the mysterious Dr. Midnight, the Freakshow’s latest stop is Drayton Falls, perhaps the strangest of all the towns it has ever visited, a place long accustomed to odd occurrences and strange phenomena. Will the Freakshow’s deranged new master of ceremonies emerge triumphant at the end of the long night of screams and psychotronic thrills, or will he meet his match in the citizenry of this haunted town? There’s only one way to find outβ€”by once again paying the price of admission to enter…THE FREAKSHOW.

Contains two bonus stories:

THE FOOT: A closet fetishist out for his daily stroll happens across a grotesque discovery that stirs a macabre and irresistible temptation.

NO SUCH THING: Professional grifter Colton Fisher doesn’t believe in ghosts, but maybe they believe in him.

Screenshot of a tweet from Joyce Carol Oates posted on Sunday, November 9th that reads "so curious that such a wealthy man never posts anything that indicates that he enjoys or is even aware of what virtually everyone appreciates--scenes from nature, pet dog or cat, praise for a movie, music, a book (but doubt that he reads); pride in a friend's or relative's accomplishment; condolences for someone who has died; pleasure in sports, acclaim for a favorite team; references to history. in fact he seems totally uneducated, uncultured. the poorest persons on Twitter may have access to more beauty & meaning in life than the "most wealthy person in the world."

Found the tweet that Joyce Carol Oates bodied Elon Musk with and it's so beautiful in its eloquent, simple take down. So much so he's crashing out trying to prove he reads books now. Put this in the Louvre.

I'd missed the experience of getting lost in a truly epic doorstop horror novel. Those need to become a regular thing again.

Finally finished Joe Hill's masterful new novel KING SORROW. Loved all of its 877 pages. Well, there were some pages that upset me on an emotional level, but that's a symptom of how fully immersed I was in the story and how much I loved the world and characters (well, *most* of them) Hill created.
