I’m planning to bring in come code editing features, that use case though is mostly because I already have the code from the work I did on scribemonster.

AI In A Box AI In A Box is simple yet revolutionary. Companies deserve the freedom to own and operate their AI solutions without reliance on third-party providers or ongoing subscription burdens.

Working on getaiinabox.com bringing ai to sn customers for less.

It is so important that you own your voice and the way to share it. It sure is easy to post on those other platforms but they should be channels that lead back to you and something you own.

I’m 34k feet in the air just thinking about how far life has taken tech to keep us tethered to each other in these new ways.

I’m not sure it’s always great, however it did just let me do some last minute Christmas shopping.

What things like this blow your mind?

2024 VPS host pricing Virtual Private Servers.... There's a little bit to know here. I was trying to find a good comparison site. Didn't see one so thought I'd toss my notes up here. These prices were as of December,...

I’m pretty feel like dummy writing about stuff I am just learning. My mind was blown away by what vCPUs are and how they are calculated. Checkout the full piece more about pricing here. jace.pro/vps-virtual-...

This title if the comic is ‘Googling Stuff…’
The comic shows two columns: on the left is “Then” showing search results with one thing listed as “the thing you want”

On the right column is ‘Now’ - also showing search results but in this case it’s a whole bunch of stuff you don’t need:

AI TAKING A WILD STAB AT IT WITH SOME
BLATANT MISINFORMATION

How do y'all deploy software on servers with dynamic or different environment variables? I started with bash scripts but there so fragile! I'm looking at cloud-init and that's neat but a bear to debug.

Open web ui has features to search the web and use tools. I would love to hear more about what you’re trying to do.

Host your own. Control your data.

I have not tried out cursor, but it seems like a similar thing to copilot. I know also Amazon has an extension in vs code for this too. There’s also the self hosted tools too, but I’d rather something that just works.

I'd love to use AI more professionally, but the work I'm doing has forbidden it's use.

For side stuff, I use Github Copilot to help while coding. I use chatgpt to have a dialog between it to help me understand more concepts I am not super familiar with. Then of course, trying out said concepts.

RedwoodJS: The App Framework for Startups Grow from side project to startup with RedwoodJS. Combines React, GraphQL, and Prisma for a full-stack app framework.

RedwoodJS is a modern React/Prisma framework inspired by Rails. Lots of generators. You're able to make a full front and backend powered site pretty quickly. Check it out at redwoodjs.com, the tutorial is pretty great.

Curiosity. When I wonder what makes something work I like to go deep. Until I’m satisfied.

Lately been on the #ai hype train. Been building out stuff using #redwoodjs and #11ty. I ❤️ self hosting your own stuff for a long time but now im actually getting it with full on front and backend.

Self hosted large language models I think are going to be as prevalent as spellcheck on word processing applications. Thanks for sharing.

AI will become as ubiquitous as spell check. Making your own models I think is better left to the likes of those corps. I read that it took ~$6k USD to train up tinydolphin (1.1B parameter model).

I think instead of paying for these huge licensing fees, folks should host their own.
