There are about 27,000 scientists at #AGU24, and about half of them work on climate one way or another. Whenever I walk into a room like this, I always take a moment to take it all inβ€”all these people dedicated their lives to working on some of our toughest problems. That gives me strength.

πŸ’§ Curious about the water quality in your area? Thanks to science πŸ§ͺ and the EPA, you can explore your local watershed with this handy tool: mywaterway.epa.gov

Unfortunately, Boulder has multiple impaired creeks from metals and πŸ¦ β€”but tools like this are a great step toward awareness and action.

Back in the day, I got an invite to Bluesky. It is pretty cool this place has grown to over 10 million users since then, and is now becoming the place for science communication. Very exciting to see!

I will begin a post-doc with the U.S. EPA Landscape and Aquatic Ecosystems Modeling Branch on Monday! Stay tuned for info on national water quality.

New Department of Interior opinion promises to recognize expanded tribal jurisdiction in Alaska β€’ Alaska Beacon Tribes can exert jurisdiction over allotments granted to individual Natives, the department's head attorney said on Feb. 1.

Alaska has almost half of the Native tribes in the United States, but their ability to exercise jurisdiction has been limited since the 1970s by federal law. Now, a new legal analysis by the Department of the Interior offers a way for them to spread tribal law over a swath of Alaska. #akleg #Alaska
