Bizarrely, housing prices historically increase enough that you can make back the down payment in 3-4 years!

Chart showing the percentage of items in the CPI basket showing at least a 3% increase. It's currently at 60% (had dropped to about 35% in mid 2023)

My most conservative trait is rapidly becoming how repulsive I find the total dereliction of defense for you and your family's honor, especially when it's your partner, who is the family you actually chose

The relatively constant share for social democrats, liberals (in the USA, these are your two sorts of Democrats) along with Greens and Communists really kinda suggests the core interaction here is on the right, but it is also looks like bad news for left-accelerationism.

The fact that Republicans in Congress are giving up on basic governance means we need some sort of change, just so we don't end up with Dictator Pritzker (or w/e) in '29

I'm almost wondering if a parliamentary system with the president only running foreign policy might be a better outcome. (Yes, I understand that's a big change from where we are now.)

๐Ÿ‘€ Marjorie Taylor Greene breaks with Republicans on Obamacare funding, saying sheโ€™s not a fan of the law but demands action to prevent a premium hike. โ€œIโ€™m absolutely disgusted that health insurance premiums will DOUBLE if the tax credits expire this year.โ€ She says GOP leaders donโ€™t have a plan.

Republicans in Congress can write legislation if they want to make changes to the higher education system. There's no need at all for the crappy "compact" at all

Elections are more or less a substitute for force of arms. That's why constantly delegitimizing the process (voter fraud! rigged! Jan 6th was no big deal!) is so corrosive.

It's clear that a segment of the userbase clearly wants an end to politics. Some of it's ideological (luxury space communism fans), some untreated depression, some of it is genuine ignorance of American governance, some are just Republicans, some probably foreign ops.

If he actually thought he'd be the president he would have seriously tried to monetize it from Day One. Having the Secret Service rent out his rooms at his resorts is penny-ante shit

Thank you to the Alaska Raptor Center for telling the truth that birders already knew: every bald eagle cry you hear in an advertisement is a red-tailed hawk.
