New paper from my lab in Nature Scientific Reports!
Using #spinal cord MRIs, we show 1st evidence of decreased cervical gray matter volume in opioid-using #Fibromyalgia cohort, but with less GMV relating to less #pain severity & interference. #Duke_CTPM

Our new paper in Journal of Pain shows similar fibromyalgia pressure pain hypersensitivity among those who take vs do not take opioids.
Bonus preliminary finding:
Opioids may reduce FM pressure pain sensitivity during the first few hours after a dose is taken.
