The thing that drives me absolutely mad is- in 2024, everything we are experiencing now was completely predicted. It’s not like Project 2025 was kept secret and it’s not like everyone didn’t have Trump’s 1st term as an example of how he performs in office.

It’s the “I can’t release my taxes because the IRS is auditing them” excuse all over again.

And Republicans in the House may feel it gives enough cover to vote no on the discharge resolution bill

Opening up an investigation of Democrats conspiring with Epstein blocks the Epstein file from being released. Because DOJ can’t/won’t release files associated with an active investigation. This is just a variation of “I can’t release my taxes because the IRS is auditing them”

I'm assuming the BBC caving reflects the fact that it is a helluva lot easier to sue for libel and defamation in British courts than it is in US courts.

I’m sure there’s panic today among Johnson & the caucus with the latest email release from House democrats.

Republicans ran away from it and denounced it because-

The reason why Republicans have no healthcare plan is because the ACA effectively IS the Republican plan. It was based on the plan developed by the Heritage Foundation & implemented by Mitt Romney in Massachusetts.

Democrats effectively accepted the plan Republicans said they wanted.

Yup- he single-handedly trashed the brand with his behavior. And Tesla really hasn't developed their line of cars significantly. It's much the same lineup of models and they don't have a great reputation for quality. The cyber truck is the modern day Edsel.

I could your office last night & again today. Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin need to leave their leadership positions. Democrats need fighters, not leaders who give up.

True- but this isn’t a dumb conspiracy. Senators Shaheen has stated they had party leadership on board for their negotiations and Dick Durbin is the Democratic Party whip in the Senate

I’m not dismissing the importance of zoning law changes & have supported and then watched bills for zoning change (allowing more Multifamily housing developments) in my local county council get brought forward & killed. The county where I live has an affordable housing crisis.

Completely accurate. I have a friend who owns a small veterinary practice and he’s completely frustrated by what PE has done to his industry. It’s impossible to find young veterinarians interested in joining a small practice & PE firms buy up his competitors and then enshitify the operation

But if small home builders cant get financing, the only builders getting these projects will be the large players. More competition amongst builders is important because it influences what gets built.

You’re going to have to get specific on where he’s being misleading or inaccurate.

I don’t need him to be a progressive in his politics- it’s the long form investigative journalism that is of interest. And he consistently reveals details about corporate predatory behavior that is valuable

Schumer either gave the green light to this group on the down-low (so he could publicly disavow it while getting an off-ramp from the shutdown) or he has zero control over his caucus. Either way, it reflects poorly on him. Democrats need a fighter leading the Senate. Schumer isn’t that
