A blackwater photo of Chtenopteryx squid. It has translucent skin, but it is covered in brilliant orange chromatophores, which completely cover the mantle, most of the head, the upper arms and lower fins. Its arms and tentacles are neatly spread out. Its fins have fin ribs at regular intervals, making it look like a comb or a ruffle chip.

I will never get over how beautiful the ribbed fins of Chtenopteryx are.

Truly, they are nature's perfect ruffle chips.

Just stunning work here. The fact you've not only nailed the likenesses but also the micro-expressions you are describing is beyond impressive. And the technical feats are still almost overshadowed by how much viewer emotion the page provokes... Your swooning is contagious!
