This work is crucial & doctors want to be part of bringing AI into healthcare in a way that helps & protects all Canadians. Thank you to the Empire Club for creating this event and to Minister Solomon for sharing your vision. I hope this is the first of many conversations with @cmadocs.bsky.social

AI will never replace physicians but physicians who use AI may replace those who don't. With our health systems so overburdened, AI has the potential to make a positive impact by reducing administrative burden, completing patient risk assessments & analysing complex medical investigations.

So sad & angry about this. Sad for a family who was just trying to make the best decisions they could. This profound grief didn't need to happen. Angry because whether for money, influence or political gain people are still spreading disinformation that is killing children

Profound health inequities persist in Canada. We need to work together in humility to build a health system that upholds Indigenous rights with the goal of eliminating these inequities. I encourage you to spend some time observing #NDTR reflecting on your own reconciliation journey in the year ahead

Today, September 28, marks five years since Joyce Echaquan, a 37-year-old Atikamekw woman, died in a Quebec hospital after she was denied the care she needed. A coroner’s inquest confirmed that racism and prejudice were factors in her death.

We know this because the…" The best research to date found no link between using Tylenol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy and autism. We know this because the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, as well as their U.S. counterparts, have stated it. What is risky is untreated fevers during pregnancy, which can cause miscarriage, organ malformations, cardiovascular complications, and even autism. If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor about using medications safely, and check out our Guide at GettingHealthy.ca for healthy pregnancy tips.View all comments

There is no link between Tylenol use in pregnancy and autism.

This lie is leading women to feel unnecessary guilt. Pregnant people deserve to have their pain recognized and treated.

Fever in pregnancy is dangerous and Tylenol is the safest fever medication

The More Protein, the Better?

71% of people are trying to eat more protein, with no clear evidence that they need it.

Almost no one talks about trying to increase their fibre intake, which is directly linked to lowered risk for colon cancer.

The CMA stands with the @medwma.bsky.social in condemning attacks on hospitals, health care workers, journalists, and civilians. Physicians, nurses, and journalists play a vital role in conflict zones, protecting them is a matter of international humanitarian law and human rights.

Vaccines do not cause autism
Turbo cancer is not real
Sunscreen does not cause cancer
Seed oils are not bad for you
Doctors are not hiding cures from you

These and so many other lies are hurting Canadians. As physicians and scientists, we need to stand up for science

Throughout my career, I’ve seen how science has shaped safer, more effective care for patients. But I’ve also seen how misinformation can cause real harm. We all share a responsibility to defend science and safeguard public trust.

Medical education should reflect the people it serves. With accreditation now fully sovereign, Canada is safeguarding equity, diversity and inclusion in how we train future physicians. A proud step forward for our learners and communities.

Our system needs a lot of work. But when private care is typically more expensive and lower quality (while also stealing docs and nurses from the public system), it can't be treated as a long-term solution.

Joining the CMA Board of Directors or committee is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of the profession. These positions build professional development and enable you to make a real impact.

We need thoughtful, dedicated leaders to help build a stronger health workforce in Canada.
