Before (2008) / After (2025) the road tunnel under Place de l'Γ‰toile was turned into a tunnel for cyclists. The tunnel was closed in 2015 because of accidents caused by the low ceiling, and reopened for bicycles in 2020. The blocks preventing cars from entering are very heavy benches.

In 1981 there is car parking along the right hand side of the road, and also on the side road in the distance. Today there is no car parking visible, just lots of greenery. Picture of multi-modal street

Here’s something that’s really important for everyone to understand.

If we design our cities just for cars, they fail everyone, including drivers.

If we design our cities with many great CHOICES in how to get around, they work better for everyone, including drivers.

Spread the word.
