My podcast about a murdered, canceled comedian just hit a perfect score on Podnews. Honestly, given the state of entertainment, I hope my fictional story doesn’t get any closer to reality.

We made Dean’s Killer Joke as a satire of comedy, podcasts, and cancel culture (with some fun murder mystery hijinks). Adding a government conspiracy against free speech sounded too dramatic and unrealistic but little did we know…

Not a comic, just a writer that’s been listening to “comedians interviewing other comedians” podcasts for the past ten years and used that world as a backdrop for a whodunnit mystery. While solving the mystery, the podcast also explores cancel culture and comedians/audience responsibility in it

Colbert has been a part of our comedy DNA since we were teenagers. Excited to see what he’ll do next. However, while we’re sometimes undecided when comedians get canceled for saying the wrong things, getting canceled for exposing those in charge? That may be even worse.

I wrote this show as a love letter (and roast) of the comedy podcast scene. Seeing it chart, even briefly, is surreal.

Why did I read this title in Mike Birbiglia’s voice?

I made this podcast after years of binging comedians-interviewing-comedians pods, where they often talked about each other on their own shows.

It felt like the perfect world for a whodunnit -- where everyone’s got a different take and a different punchline

I wouldn’t have made this show without Marc Maron and WTFs influence on #podcasting and culture as a whole. All good things must end and that sucks

Me coming up with a new idea that’s totally doable and TOTALLY not just writers block in the middle of my current #wip

1 of the best pieces of #writingadvice I've gotten is that you don't need to write for hours. Sometimes writing for a max of 30 minutes a day will get you closer to a finished draft than waiting for a time block that you're too busy for.

But finding the perfect pen is a must. I don't make the rules

How are people finding writers groups these days?

This book is so freaking good that I’m mad/jealous that I didn’t come up with it
