It's the position he's been working from for decades. I think he does a great service in his attempt to update religious beliefs with current knowledge.

You all need to loosen up. He said "a kind of". He did not mean brains are literally transformer models. He's just saying we keep wondering if our created tech is like our spirits and might ask whether our spirits are like our created tech.
