It was suggested on Hacker News yesterday that "The second law is that O(n * log n) is for practical intents and purposes O(n)." and that is a good law. It's not my observation, but should that be "my" second law?

I like to call this Dawson’s first law of computing: O(n^2) is the sweet spot of badly scaling algorithms: fast enough to make it into production, but slow enough to make things fall down once it gets there.

By using FontForge on a PDF from the website for the campaign (web.archive.org/web/20051223...); I can confirm that they are indeed using the illegal clone version of the font, rather than the licensed one!
