And when men became a fan of the franchise, they took over the fandom spaces and pushed women out.

As someone who visited those fandom spaces occasionally as a guest, since I was a fan since the 80's. I was not surprised when all of a sudden folks were wary of me as a male presenting person.

I can't accept that women have reasons to be wary of me in the spaces they have built. They have good reason too.

The MLP fandom is actually a really good example of that. The MLP fandom before FiM was built by women, and it was for women.

I'm in my 40's now for the record.

If you can't provide spaces for people who's voice these stories reflect, then you shouldn't engage with those stories at all.

What is unfortunate is that there are other queer folk that condone this activity.

MLM writing and book fandoms are rife with queerphobia. This is not news. It's true in romance fiction, it's true in fandom fiction like slash writing, I have seen it all over the place and have experienced it.

The first time I experienced it was in a slash community when I was 19.

But apparently queer men pointing out homophobia they experience by women is misogynistic.

It blows my mind the amount of work some will go to to discredit queer male experiences with MLM Romance fandom.

No one should believe every thing they read on the net, what happened to giving people the benefit of the doubt when they're taking about their experiences with oppression?

And it is in fact homophobic, to spend hours discrediting a gay man, who experienced homophobia, and in the end think you've proven he lied, with only allegations.

I can accept that there is a possibility his story isn't real.? Can you accept the possibility that it could be real?

And yet no one proved it was a falsehood, just what they think. But sure she spent hours making a spreadsheet good for you.

And it wasn't a generalized appeal, it was a pretty specific one.

But it's interesting that so many women want to jump through hoops to deny that queerphobia towards queer men is highly prevalent in MLM fandom spaces and MLM romance and writing spaces.
