We’re entering the β€œuncanny valley” of writing: AI that sounds right but feels wrong.

The MIT study reminds us: authenticity isn’t a metric β€” it’s an emotion.
And AI doesn’t feel it, so it can’t convey it.

When content is β€œtoo perfect,” it fails the empathy test.
Readers don’t just want information β€” they want imperfection that signals humanity.

AI can’t automate credibility.
Even if AI matches human quality, authorship still drives trust and memory retention.

Readers still trust the human touch more than the flawless output.
MIT’s experiment shows bias against AI authorship β€” and maybe it’s justified.
Machines can mimic language, not accountability.

We don’t read to consume; we read to connect. AI passes the Turing Test for language, but not for intention.

It's intangible, but super concrete: even perfect AI prose feels hollow without a human voice behind it.

It’s not about performance β€” it’s about presence.
The MIT study proves a simple truth: trust β‰  text quality.

Readers respond to who wrote it, not how good it sounds.

🧡 Good insight found by MIT researchers: people prefer human content even when AI writes equally well.

Trust my, I’m a sustainable person and very involved in all the green-civ matter. Living like this is simply impossible, whe’re literally overwhelmed by company that sponsors/directly finance apartheid and even worse war (sudan, mali) or crysis. Often, companies are unlinked with the state itself

Nice.
Adaptation is a very appropriate word. Did you use it on purpose? I bet you know the excellent work from prof Jem Bendell (Cumbria University) and his β€œDeep Adaptation”. I edited the italian version in 2017/2018 :)

I agree. Often it’s something out of our control because of algorythm and platform’s policies. I’d add a 3rd point:

3. Are you consistent enough/how you enough time to wait the breaking of the wall of β€œvirality”/β€œattention”?

That’s said, without quality (Kotler’s 4P) marketing is useless

Data centers are becoming financial assets:
Funds buy land, cable it, lease it.

Utilities build off-grid plants for reliability.

The perfect energy-finance intersection: electron meets brick.
The boom has just begun and the math barely fits the matter.

New US frontiers: Iowa, Indiana, Wyoming, Ohio, where power is cheap and land available.
Build time: 2–4 years.
Grid upgrades: up to 10.

The physical lag behind the digital dream.

Hyperscalers (AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta) own 50%+ of global AI-ready capacity.
By 2030, 65% of US/EU AI loads will run in their campuses.

McKinsey sees +33% annual growth, with GenAI worth 40% of total compute.

Data centers aren’t β€œserver rooms”, they’re industrial ecosystems:
β€’ Cooling towers & backup grids
β€’ Fiber arteries
β€’ Power densities doubling every 2 yrs, x4 by 2027
β€’ Liquid cooling replaces air β€” molecular A/C for 400 W chips

Global investments will hit $3–8T by 2030, 70% fueled by AI.
Ten years ago, 30 MW was β€œmega.”
Now 200 MW campuses are normal.
The S-curve is here: exponential growth, endless demand, and electricity as a new geopolitical currency.

🧡 We live in a world that calls β€œcloud” what’s physical, loud, and hot.
Every ChatGPT prompt or Drive upload lights up a concrete shed that drinks energy and releases heat.
That’s where the future lives β€” in data centers.

The lesson from Il Foglio’s newsroom:
- machines don’t understand responsibility, only syntax.
- The future of journalism isn’t AI-generated articles.
- AI-assisted editors may find their place.
- Humans are still the only who know what’s worth publishing.

Editors imagined AI would save time, instead, they now spend more time fixing tone, nuance, and narrative. I feel it too, I simply don't use it anymore at work (or here in BSKY).

AI can’t replace a reporter’s judgment but only remix (with yesterday's data!)

The main problem maybe is that AI doesn’t lie, but hallucinates with confidence. Readers believe it - also because the "source" is authorative. This leads to #misinformation.

Paradox: the more β€œefficient” the process, the less journalism survives in it.

AI slop - Wikipedia

AI-written news sounds clean, but carries no conviction. Context is broken: the story flowsβ€”but it has no soul. I already talked to you about AI slop, right? (I still want to use the concept of "patina" to make it even clearer)

The machine got the words rightβ€”but the world wrong.
When Il Foglio tested AI for newsrooms, it learned a hard truth:
accuracy β‰  understanding.

AI can summarize events, not grasp them.

🧡 "Il Foglio", an italian journal, let AI write the news.
The (expected) result? Faster production, weaker journalism.

πŸš€ The new blue ocean is Agentic AI.

Look at this chart from McKinsey: 62 % are testing agents, only 10 % have scaled them

These systems learn, decide, act. And few companies even started.
Startups material.

πŸ“Š According to McKinsey, 2/3 of companies are still β€œexperimenting” or β€œpiloting” AI. Only 31 % scaled it enterprise-wide.

AI isn’t a prototype anymore. It’s infrastructure.
Is the real blocker skills or culture?

In short: don’t ask, β€œHow many posts can I generate with AI?”
Ask instead, β€œHow many posts can I not generate because they don’t need to exist?”

The real value lies in what we choose not to produce.

AI can generate sentences β€” but it can’t yet create journalism.
Too many problems:
β€’ factual errors
β€’ low originality
β€’ weak narratives

From Kahnemann, our brain is divided in 2 systems:
- System 1: fast, automatic, and intuitive
- System 2: is slow, deliberate, and conscious, requiring intentional effort

So the β€œreasoning” system. So it’s a reflessive thinking.
