Also you get way more success arguing with these people if you glaze them first. They sometimes won't acknowledge your humanity until you've acknowledged their intelligence, accomplishments, etc. The fragile egos thing is so real. But it really brings their guard down

I think this is partially also whythe "tolerance" argument got some right wingers to support gay marriage in the 00s.
