My current WIP is a fun mixed media mosaic based on a photograph from several years ago, taken by a photographer who placed floral headdresses on dogs to help them get adopted. I painted the wood gold to help the clear iridescent glass background pop.

Not sure how much reach this will get, but I'm going to give it a try. Publishing friends, I really need to find some additional work as a copy editor or proofreader. Ideally for SFF, because that's been my bread and butter for almost a decade, but I would consider other opportunities as well.

Richter's long career spans a variety of styles and movements, from photo-realism to pure abstraction, as well as multiple media, including glass. The Cologne Cathedral’s windows from the 1860s had been destroyed during World War II, along with their original designs. In 2003, it was decided to commission new windows and Richter submitted a design that was based on his 1974 painting “4096 Farben” (“4096 Colors”). The final design uses 72 different colors that coordinate and repeat colors that appear in the Cathedral's other stained glass windows. Richter used a computerized random generator, with a few manual tweaks, for the color placements in the finished design. The glass pieces, which resemble pixels, are fixed together with a silicone gel instead of the traditional lead cames structures of medieval stained glass. There is no overt religious theme to the window but the flow of colored light allows for meditation and contemplation in the sacred space.
