The Gene Home was a huge success!

At the Gene Home visitors were able to engage with science through exciting activities within the familiar setting of the home. Activities ranged from identifying and building protein variants, talking to sickle cell warriors and becoming a Sunscreen Picasso!

Oliver Gonzalez-Carvajal won best talk prize at the UK Cancer Metabolism Network annual meeting. He was discussing his PhD work looking at the role of membrane transporters in the formation of drug tolerant persister cells in cancer.

Carmen Ramirez Moncayo won a poster prize at the @thebacr.bsky.social 65th Anniversary Symposium in Edinburgh. Her poster discussed her work on understanding the mechanisms and implications of heterogeneous PARP inhibitor accumulation in ovarian tumours.
