In my opinion, a person is nothing but a mercenary when that person takes their pension from a high-ranking government position, then goes to work as a lobbyist for a company trying to sell product to his/her former government department.

I think what should happen is that all senior members of the federal government, regardless of their department, should be barred from acting as lobbyists for large corporations. These guys who retire early, collect a pension & get paid to use their contacts is, in my view, a conflict of interest.
