This librarian would only wear a fleece to work in a very cold office (and I’d wear something smarter underneath) or for an Open Day or similar event. However it may depend on your role. If I had to spend time with dusty books I’d wear older smart-casual clothes #TheArchers

Fleeces are practical in that they are hard to destroy in the washing machine and they dry very quickly.

Mind you, merino wool clothing dries quickly too. #TheArchers

I’m a librarian - the stereotype has us wearing cardigans. It tends to be true as they are easy to take on / off in the varying temperature zones that many libraries operate in. If you choose well they provide pockets.

No sane individual would make a lengthy train journey (with several train operators) on a Sunday. “Weekend engineering works” and “replacement buses” are phrases that strike fear into the heart of any train passenger #TheArchers

Brian should have paid the postal charge so the buggy or cradle (or whatever it is) for his great-grandchild could go straight to Phoebe’s home. Daft idea to transport it in the people carrier along with luggage. #TheArchers

In the UK we have multiple train operators and services do not always mesh. Operators will not hold back a connection for a train from a different service. Though Scotland is all ScotRail.

Most of the people I know who do that started doing so when travelling with small children.

Must admit the idea of approaching one’s holiday destination at sunrise sounds great.

Since Covid, and accidentally retiring early, my driving experience is much more local and during daylight. Really pleased that I made two solo journeys up to Scotland this year. Husband hates being driven (by anyone) so I want to keep sensibly challenging myself with medium / longer journeys.
