Not true, the IDF has some decent alternatives.
I've said it again and again, Julani could have the best intentions (we still don't know, but it's certainly possible), but he doesn't control the other (also Jihadist) factions in Syria.

11.12.2024 18:17 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Zionism, at its simplest, is believing that the State of Israel should exist.
If you don't believe that Israel should exist, you should probably consider what would happen to the 8+ million Jews living there. If you haven't, it's probably because you don't give a shit.

Seems like the US and Israel are very much on the same page here
Here's another leftist who truly believes the scary hooknosed Jews control America.
Get a hold of your people, Bluesky
You understand that this is an unhinged thing to post right?
The (((Joos))) do not control the world, the west, or America. We can barely manage our own country.
I mean, according to Doron Kadosh (the journalist I linked earlier), US is onboard with current Israeli actions in Syria
09.12.2024 19:30 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Not that you care probably, but here's a fairly well known Israeli journalist reporting on limits and goals the IDF has set for itself in Syria. I thought it was interesting at least.

09.12.2024 14:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I haven't heard about any olive branch. Can you provide a source?
But even assuming that's true, making peace with 1 rebel leader in Syria is not worth much if there are 49 other groups all vying for power.
So can you understand Israels concern about what is going on just over the border as well?
Unfortunately nobody in the Knesset asks me my opinions.
I would be very surprised if Israeli kept troops in those villages after a good faith discussion from the Syrian rebels.
On the other hand, it's possible Israel decides to hold onto the upper peak of mt Hermon.
Why tf would Israel move civilians into Syria? This is a defensive maneuver.
Israel had an agreement with Assads army, and now there is pure chaos over there. If the new rebel govt wants to come to the table to figure out some agreement then I would expect Israeli troops to move back.
Golan heights was a buffer zone to protect the Galilee. And that's why it's never going back to Syria and why it was already annexed.
But now there's Israeli civilians living right on that border, and they safety guarantees as well
It's unacceptable with Ukraine bc Ukraine is a sovereign country with a real govt. And Russia is actually trying to take and annex the ENTIRE COUNTRY.
Syria is failed state with Isis and ex al Qaedas running around. I think setting up defense positions a few kms over the border is justified.
Which Syrian towns did Israel occupy?
09.12.2024 11:45 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0What are you building?
09.12.2024 09:43 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Yeah occupying Syrian territory to protect Israeli citizens from the instability in Syria
09.12.2024 09:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Okayyy, but what about the "region" (Israel) providing theoretical the "regional support". Are they entitled to any sort of protection from the instability in Syria?
09.12.2024 09:31 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Stability in Syria is like blizzards in the Sahara
08.12.2024 23:21 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0If there are such dangerous weapons in Assad's arsenal, and who knows which rebel group is going to get them, why does it not make sense to preemptively destroy them?
I agree that coalition building with the new Syrian govt would be nice, but given the chaos there now, agreements aren't worth much
True, Israel has been destroying weapons depot's in Syria all day. Very justifiable if you ask me.
And if you think that Israel wouldn't win a war against Syrian rebels then you haven't been reading the news the past few months. Not that Israel is interested in a conflict with Syria, just saying...
"Bombing villages" is misleading. It makes it sound like Israel is blowing up Syrian children. In reality Israel is working to prevent rebels from getting their hands on Assads chemical weapons arsenal, and to deter any possible threats from rogue syrian rebel groups
08.12.2024 22:37 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Which olive branch?
08.12.2024 22:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I'm sorry, do think that the possibility of certain rebel groups in Syria taking advantage of the chaos to start new shit with Israel is an unlikely or impossible scenario?
Peaceful coexistence sounds great, but needs to be approached with a healthy level of skepticism.
So you agree that Israel is 100% justified with regard to it's recent actions in Syria
