whenever colleagues wonder why i’m Like That, let’s just recall that the precursor to my comms career was a project management career

i kept trying to stop this solve because i believe in the importance of setting boundaries (ie no weekend work), but for my particular brain it ensures that each of the days in my work week go infinitely better and smoother - so it is actually the best path for my achieving work life balance.

it’s like setting myself up to feel already on a roll work-wise regardless of what mental state i wake up with (which can be Highly Variable). plus doing those small tasks on sunday gets my brain reacquainted so that it’s pre-loaded with a ranked priority list for when i wake up on monday.

accepted that the best work process for me is prescheduling start-of-week slacks & emails at some point on sunday. i’m not here advocating everyone should be grinding on the weekend, but for me the 30-45 mins i spend on that & pre-writing agendas sidesteps my anxiety stalling out the entire workweek

last week it was google docs today it’s cloudflare. everyone should just take q4 off.
