Gittens is probably a bit unfortunate to hit 3 bugbears with the fanbase:
- everyone is tired of Shields schtick
- we've had a terrible recent history with Bundesliga attackers
- we've bought so many wingers under this ownership and largely shit

You really have to ask why Manchester City aren't desperate to sign all of their former academy players back if they're the sort of talents being identified by the most exciting project in world football.
