Really good discussion and turnout on Friday evening at my San Joaquin County town hall on defeating the Delta Tunnel fast-tracking plan, working to make CA more affordable, creating more jobs as we transition to clean energy, and ensuring artificial intelligence is safe and beneficial.

Honored to help lead a successful effort to exempt up to $20,000 in military retirement income from state taxes.

Also proud to support SB 296, which sought to provide a full property tax exemption for 100% disabled veterans or their surviving spouses.

Great to join with Congressman Josh Harder for a roundtable discussion in Manteca on veterans' issues.

SB 711 makes it easier for California taxpayers to file their taxes by aligning numerous state tax requirements with federal requirements for the first time in a decade.

ICYMI: Filing tax returns is about to become easier in California, especially for taxpayers with small businesses, thanks to my SB 711, which Gov. @gavinnewsom.bsky.social signed last evening.

SB 86 extends the clean energy tax incentive program and expands it to include fusion energy, a cutting-edge technology that has the potential to produce unlimited amounts of safe, clean power.

With the Trump Administration eliminating clean energy funding nationwide, SB 86 will help California maintain its lead in the fight against climate change by continuing to incentivize green energy projects.

Under SB 787, state agencies, labor unions, environmental organizations, and clean energy industries will coordinate supply chain development for three key sectors: batteries, offshore wind, and building-decarbonization technologies.

Good news! The CA Legislature has approved my SB 787, which is designed to create more clean energy jobs in the state.

SB 7 would bar California employers from relying primarily on AI systems, known as automated decision-making systems (ADS), to discipline or terminate workers without human oversight.

With the passage of SB 24, the Legislature has sent a clear message: It’s time to hold utilities accountable and stop them from wasting ratepayer dollars on lobbying and political campaigns that should be paid by shareholders.

SB 24 would bar IOUs, like PG&E, from using ratepayers dollars to lobby against local efforts to create a municipal utility. The bill would also expand the investigative oversight of utilities actions.
