My favorite Midwest Emo band is Sum 41.

I never understood the resistance to natural evolution in language. People get so dang worked up over contractions or word placement.

Then, when kids started calling pop punk and indie rock and melodic hardcore and shoegaze all “Midwest Emo” I felt the inner pedant come out.
