whenever i make a cup of tea i’m unable to shake the thought that the tetley tea mascots were just british mario and luigi

right! it instantly puts things into perspective

it was so cool and cathartic to relive the beats of development as told through build progress. the first build with non-placeholder art. the first build after we finally got rid of a longstanding bug that we'd all had to get used to for months. the first build with @elirainsberry.com's music in it!

around the launch of my last shipped game, i put on a presentation for the team where i dug up old builds from the last 3 years and played them in chronological order

on a long project you forget all the small (and big!) changes that get made over time and it’s rewarding to see how far you’ve come!

this is great, and a reminder that it’s always valuable as a dev to keep hold of stuff that tells the story of how your game was made

ahh i did wonder if there was an influence! i love to see an individual person’s fingerprints on a piece of work so this made me v happy. congrats on release btw!

skin deep has such a cool approach to crediting individual level designers. nobody does tongue-in-cheek diegetic stuff quite like @blendogames.bsky.social. truly the best to ever do it.

good post. as someone who attended and became aware of bad behaviour almost immediately after arriving, i’m surprised to be seeing a statement like this from them, esp 8 months after the fact. late is def better than never though. i do hope they’ve also reached out in some way to the affected folks

took a short break from mug making to throw this set of little plates (and garlic grater)

my favourite are lemon meringue cookies. they’re fussy to make but they’re v delicious (also, using a blowtorch to toast the meringue topping is always fun)
