this is just looking at senators, but it would be cool to make a similar map but for gubernatorial elections

wait thatβs really strange it looks like 75% of the countyβs growth from 2010-2020 was from the black population but i have no clue why itβs increasing iβd expect the opposite trend

theyβre the most urban parts of the state, fargo and grand forks
both are sort of post-industrial so iβm not shocked by the demographics there, and ofc theyβre still like 80-90% white

Itβs not, NY is still blue, but Trump flipped Niagara and itβs 11 electoral votes.

Also if you're curious because they are sort of hard to see, the 25-50% Pacific Islander county is Kalawao, Hawaii, and the <10% Pacific one is Randolph, Arkansas (no clue how that happened).

Presenting... the largest nonwhite group by county! Not too many surprises here, but it is interesting how you can see various regions clearly outlined. The South in black counties, Native reservations really pop, and most Asian counties are very suburban or have college towns.

Trump flipped back seven states he lost to President Joe Biden in 2020: Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Niagara, and Georgia. He did so through expanding his margins with nearly every demographic group, improving the most among Hispanic voters.

The 2024 presidential election in the United States resulted in a major win for Former President Donald Trump, as he beat Vice President Kamala Harris by a 325-219 Electoral College majority, surpassing the 273 EVs needed to win. Trump won the national popular vote by about 1.5%.

Something I thought was interesting: the last time each state elected a Republican senator. Hawaii has the longest streak, going all the way back to 1970. Somewhat surprisingly, New Jersey is second at 1972, despite being won by Republicans 5 times at the top of the ticket since.
