Two Months After Firing Over Charlie Kirk Comments, Ghost Of Yotei Dev Blames Harassment Campaign, Not β€˜Bad Joke’ "I really don’t want this to happen to anyone else, because I feel like with the state of everything, it will absolutely happen to other people," says Drew Harrison

For @aftermath.site, I spoke to @imodrew.bsky.social, the Sucker Punch dev fired after making a Charlie Kirk joke.

She paints a picture of an industry that all too often ignores bad actors until those bad actors threaten them financially.

The phone call between Sonny and Leon is so disarmingly beautiful that the context of what I know to be true about this story, and the legacy of Dog Day Afternoon within my community, momentarily fades away. Pacino has two performances in the 70s that are as strong as performances can be, and this is one of them. The other is Michael Corleone in the first two Godfather films. That performance is an internal one, with evil festering in his blossoming inhumanity, flickering out in a handful of wonderfully expressive moments of what he has chosen to become (his murder of Sterling Hayden’s character in The Godfather & Fredo’s final scene in The Godfather Part Two). Dog Day Afternoon is almost a composite opposite of what he accomplished as Michael. Everything is leaking out of him, and when they put the camera on him in that phone call he can’t hide from anyoneβ€”let alone Leon. Those big soulful, searching eyes, taking on water, looking for a way out. He’s mesmerizing in the visibility of his love for Leon that’s spilling all over the placeβ€”almost embarrassingly so. Sarandon isn’t a very good trans woman, and he doesn’t feel like the gay men of the era either. His queer creature doesn’t make any sense at all until Pacino is on the phone with her, and the cuckoo qualities of their relationship and this story cohere in a strangely magical moment. It’s fair to say that when modern queer audiences gravitate to the true story of John Wojtowicz they aren’t reacting to the man that actually robbed the bank (he was a chaser who consistently misgendered Liz. They didn’t live happily ever after.), but to Pacino’s performance, and the bare minimum facts of the reasons for the robbery.

I wrote about DOG DAY AFTERNOON and its complicated legacy among trans viewers for my reader's choice series. My co-writer Caden Mark Gardner will be discussing many of these same topics tonight on TCM before this film is shown. Please tune in!

Also the comparisons to classic Telltale games are pretty unnecessary. This is barely interactive with mildly consequential choices (so far).

The Walking Dead, for example, was a true adventure game where being able to embody a character and explore an environment was key to the experience.

Le Chiffre and rope about to torture Bond

Happy 60th birthday to CASINO ROYALE's Mads Mikkelsen.

When Daniel Craig arrived at Pinewood for his first day's filming as James Bond, Mads was only too happy to show him the ropes.

Speculation around Ubisoft earnings delay proves unfounded It was an accounting issue involving new auditors and the reporting of revenue from two unspecified partnerships, the company said.

NEW: Ubisoft has not been sold, nor has it collapsed.

The week-long delay in its corporate earnings, the subject of much speculation, was due to--are you sitting down?-- financial reporting technicalities regarding two unspecified partnerships.

Border Patrol is monitoring US drivers and detaining those with 'suspicious' travel patterns The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious.

A blockbuster investigation by the AP, out today.

So much in it, give it a read, but starts with: "The U.S. Border Patrol is monitoring millions of American drivers nationwide in a secretive program to identify and detain people whose travel patterns it deems suspicious."

Maybe the most embarrassing thing I’ve done as an adult is pay to see Bill Maher live.

It was 2012. I was 24. I’ve grown and learned, and I am sorry.

A Half-Life 3 announcement would break the internet if the internet were full of only 35+ year olds.

(I kid, I kid... I'll just wait for the TikTok videos with Alphas explaining why their parents liked Half-Life so much back in the day)

I’m personally enjoying the multiplayer quite a bit yet I don’t disagree with what Lex says.

I’ve been playing COD multiplayer for 20 years and it’s comfort food for me. But for all the resources poured into it, couldn’t it be more? And the AI art is pure trash, really embarrassing.
