Sadly stuff like this is only done to appeal to his most hardcore radical supporters (maybe 25% of the population).

The thinking is that as long as you can control those 25% it will be enough to keep the rest of the population and Congress in line.

Unfortunately they are going to get the funding one way or another, whether Congress votes for it or not.

The party has been seized by billionaires and special interests (many with extensive ties to hostile foreign governments). The Dem party as well but not to quite the same extent. Billionaires generally don’t think they should be required to follow the same laws as everyone else.
